Blog# 3: Being called "The Dumbest Generation" True or False??

Being called the dumbest generation was not fair and not truthful at all. I believe that we have come to a point where we do not have to remember so much to go on further, we have the technological  resources that we can turn to and find answers quicker than before. I do understand that we should be able to recall historical events quicker than we do but some of us only concentrate on what we are most interested in. One of the articles that we discussed in class read that some younger students couldn't identify and state what an "Colored Only" sign was in the museum. I personally say that in some eyes this could be good, only reason being is because they haven't had any racial experiences where they had to know what it was and the history behind it. On the other hand some people will say that they have to learn more of their history and learn about the things that happened so that we can have racial equality today. We as the younger generations may have some things to work on and learn more but being judged as the dumbest generation is taking it too far!

  1. I wrote about the whole "colored enterance" thing too. Its just shocking to me. I think you made some good points though by saying we have the resources to turn to to help us find answers in this day in age.

  2. I agree, it's very unfair for Mark Bauerlein to deem us the "dumbest generation". Especially when he probably doesn't even know anything about technology.
